The Cornea is the transparent external membrane of the eye. It is the one to receive the first impact of light. Next to the cornea is the Iris, a thin colored ring (which give an eye color). The Iris includes the Pupil, which controls the amount of light that enters the eye through dilation and contraction. Behind the iris is the Crystalline lens or optic disc. This is where a light rays are finely focused to form the image on the Retina, situated in the rear of the eye. All together they form the Eye ball.
Problems in the eyes may be caused by an infection, trauma, irritation, or lack of a given vitamin (like in the case of night blindness), a deformation of the eyeball, a hardening of the cornea, a stress, etc.
